Star Pirates Code’s ambient music features a simple beat that loops every time a spin is made. Once a player hits a bonus, it turns into a full ensemble reminiscent of soundtrack music in action-adventure movies.

Gameplay and Bonuses

One thing that makes this game different from other videoslots is that players can win by matching symbols that form winning patterns either from left to right or right to left, starting from the outermost reels.

At the minimum, players receive a prize when three symbols of the same kind show up in adjacent reels. This is why despite it only having ten paylines, there is twice the chance of winning.

There are two WILD symbols in play. First is the skulls and crossbones symbol that acts as a substitute for other icons except for the WILD COMPASS.

The WILD COMPASS, aside from being a substitute token, also triggers the Respin Feature. When it appears on a spin, it points to a random direction where WILD symbols would fill slots.

When additional WILD COMPASS symbols emerge, more free spins are given. In addition, multipliers add up when WILD symbols get spun during the Respin round.

The maximum win amount is 2,500x of the wager. If the limit is reached during the Respin Feature, the round immediately ends.

Closing

The System Settings menu offers choices to quicken the pace of the game as well as toggle the music and sound effects. Players can also turn off the introduction screen every time the game is loaded. In addition, they can view their spin history, which opens on a new tab.

Star Pirates Code has an RTP of 96.7%. This is high for a game that only has ten paylines and simple mechanics.

In a sample playtest of 100 spins on Autoplay with a minimum bet, there were 14 spins that had winning combinations. Nearly half of those triggered the Respin Feature, and one spin had multiple free spins, which unsurprisingly, had the best reward.

All in all, the estimated RTP and relatively easy gameplay can be deceiving, as our experience was quite the opposite of our expectations. This game is best suited for those who are into the theme or who would like to have a bit of a challenge.
